Route on JHCOB’s Wall

I am a sport climber but am trying to branch out into bouldering and trad climbing as each type of climbing builds a new skill set. Plus, Little Cottonwood is chock full of boulders and great trad lines, many of which I have not experienced because I am usually clipping bolts in Big Cottonwood.

There are some trad lines in Big Cottonwood as well and this week Triznut, Shaft, NE Velcro and I jammed up the canyon to some Kraak en Smaak (dancing the whole way) and did a quick lap on the Second East face of JHCOB’s Wall.

The canyon I love: Big Cottonwood.

Scrambling up the notorious BCC death scree.

The usual self portrait. He he he….

The classic butt shot of Triznut leading the first pitch.

NE Velcro coming up behind us with Shaft.

Rob at the last belay on the route. We did do one more pitch in order to avoid bushwacking through the scrub oak, but this was the last pitch on the actual route.

Love the helmet pic, you are one of the lucky few that can make that look good.
