First Weekend of August Climbing Adventures

Yet another great weekend at the SLC crags, starting Saturday morn at Broads Fork.

Triznut throwing up a rope for us.

Shaft redpointed one of his projects and came real close to another. Good job!

Me working a climb that seemed a lot easier on top rope. Funny how that works. =)
Sunday morn Triznut, Shaft, BW and I went up to Ferguson canyon to work on some trad lines. Ferguson canyon is great because the rock is completely different than Big and Little Cottonwoods, plus dogs are allowed. Sunday was exceptional because it turned out to be “wildlife day”, as we referred to it. This huge owl flew through the canyon and watched my dog while we were at the first crag (yeah, it made me a little nervous). A hiker mentioned seeing two rattle snakes up the trail and the second climb we hopped on had a small bat hanging out in the crack.

Shaft leading.

Shaft being so kind to try and keep CB warm. CB is cold if the temps drop below 90 degrees.

Every once in awhile Salt Lake City looks like it actually has some foliage besides that of sage brush. This is from the top of the second climb, name unknown right now.

BW on lead.

Triznut feeding my lil’ munchkin strawberry cream cheese. I’m pretty sure that is included in her diet, right?

Me real smiley even though I am exhausted from the weekend.

How fun. I can feel the appeal of climbing. I tried it once. learned that I need a heck of a lot more upper body strength, and lower body strength.. and general body strength... :) Plus, my dogs are too big to pull up with me. So we stick with jogging.
