On the Move

After two wonderful weeks in Rumbling Bald, I packed up the little Honda Civic and headed four hours to Rock Town, GA.  Good bye granite, hello sand stone!

Hey, this blog comes up 1st when googling Rocktown Georgia, and I was hoping you could update this post. There are some new access issues coming up in 2012 for the land Rocktown is on. Check this out please,

People looking to climb will need to pre-purchase a pass to use the land, I tried out most of the ordering process and it was fairly easy, the prices arent bad at all either. Since this is the first thing that comes up in Google for Rocktown I hope you can update the post so the rest of the climbing community across the nation can benefit.

Thanks for posting the guide from Dr. Topo. It is much appreciated.
  • So jealous, I LOVE Rocktown!!!! It's the best. Be sure to try the New Sheriff In Town! And all the problems on the Sherman roof area are awesome! Truthfully, I can't even remember a bad problem, they were all super classic!
  • So far, I love it here (I've actually been here almost 2 weeks), but I have sent hardly anything. HA! Lots of roofs and slopers, but so much fun. Basically I am happy if I can do each problem in two sections as the link-up seems to continually be impossible for me... =) I haven't hopped on New Sheriff in Town, but just found it on the topo. I will hit it up for sure today.
Hope you are well, lil' chicka.

  • PS. There is a Rec Center in town with air hockey and showers. Can't remember where or what it's called, but it's not a big town, you'll figure it out!
  • I don't know if I found that Rec center, but I found another one that let me shower for free. =)
