Thinking of Holiday Giving…?

Why not stop by Utah Blood and give some blood or platelets?

As many of you readers know, I am an active platelet donor when at home and particularly love Utah Blood as all donations are used at the local hospitals.  According to one of their latest blog posts, the holidays are their slowest time for donations.  Why not swing in and give someone the gift of life?  You can drop-in, but it is best to make an appointment by calling 801-584-5272.

  • What a great idea coming up to Christmas. Unfortunately, in Thailand, I don't have the opportunity but would make sure to do so when I'm back in the Real World.
  • Yeah, I should find a place here in Chattanooga. I haven't given blood / platelets since hitting the road as I seem to always be on the brink of having a cold. It is hard to NOT feel run down while climbing every day. It just seems like my body is getting a beating... and in return I am always run down.
    Thanks for the comment, Neal.
    Hope you are well.

  • Are you taking any vitamin tablets? I regularly take them (a generic multi-vitamin tablet) especially when I'm doing a lot of sport. It helps keep the immune system in good shape!
  • I am religiously taking a multi-vitamin, yet am still always on the brink of being sick. Sure enough ... I have a full blown cold today. I have even been eating healthy (well, except the occasional burger with friends). I notice if I supplement my generic vitamin with extra vitamin C it seems to help.
  • Interesting! seems obvious when you say that it's mainly colds that you're affected by that Vitamin C would help...can't have enough of that stuff :)
Hope the climbing is going well now though
