There's no problem with that, dogs will be a big disturbance when camping. First one where will you place it? you can't leave it, and it won't let you sleep. We experienced that, our dog bark in the whole day.

She slept in the car, which was actually perfect for her as it was a bit chilly outside. Then every couple hours I would come to walk her or play catch.

I love horsepens, although when we went last year in October, it was still a little too warm (and rainy). The one thing I noticed in your post is the laundry bit–there is a laundromat not too far from there in that little town. I couldn't tell you must about getting there except it's a little ways past the Waffle House on the right…it's on the side of a strip mall.
