RedRock Holiday Celebration
Monday, February 11th, 2008This year I was fortunate enough to work Christmas day in order to get six days off in a row and head down to wonderful Red Rocks, Nevada. The 2007 holiday crew consisted of Gunner, GRK, Frenchie, Triznut, myself and of course the CB-GBers. The weather was beautiful, plus we had a place to crash.

Heading through the ice cream swirled rocks to the Sunny and Steep wall.

The Sunny and Steep wall was in perfect conditions when we arrived, but within a 30 minute period the sun sunk behind the surrounding mountains, instantly dropping the temperature below 40 degrees. After about an hour Triznut refused to climb and did jumping jacks. Some of us attempted to pull through the cold, but soon enough we all caved and headed back to the car.
Frenchie hopped on my nemesis the Yack Crack and came extremely close to hitting the on site while using the above foot maneuvers. This same day I finally hit the redpoint … yipee!
It actually was pretty chilly the whole time. Gunner keeping warm in between climbs.
Gunner working The Gift. One of our friends hit the redpoint while we were there.

The Flying Frenchman.
The boys spent a day in the Black Corridor. I was having an off day and spent some time reading and chilling with the Cb-Gbers.
On the last day, Team Greg and I climbed at the Panty Wall. I had never climbed at this wall and it surprisingly had a superb mix of fun warmups, enjoyable trad lines, awesome sport and some slab.
GRK finishing the trip on a slab behind the Panty Wall.
Best of all, the lil’ one was exhausted by the end of the trip.
